# Ask SprintBrain

> Ask a question in plain words and get an answer built only from your own snippets and Brains, with every source linked.

Ask SprintBrain answers questions from what your team has already written in SprintBrain. You don't need to remember a shortcut, a folder or the exact words of a snippet: type the question the way you would ask a colleague.

It answers only from your own snippets and Brain items. It never makes up a rule, a price, a deadline or a procedure that isn't written there.

## Ask a question

### In the dashboard

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the search panel">
    Type your question in the search bar at the top, then press **Enter**, or press **⌘K** (**Ctrl+K** on Windows) from any page.

    The **Ask SprintBrain** row sits above the search results once you have typed three characters or more. You can also press **⌘↵** (**Ctrl+Enter**).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Read the answer">
    **Back to results** returns to the normal search list.
  </Step>
</Steps>

### On your phone

Type your question in the search box on the Snippets, Prompts or Brains page, then tap **Ask SprintBrain** under it. The answer opens in a sheet at the bottom of the screen.

## Read the answer

* **From your SprintBrain** marks an answer built from your content.
* The small numbers after a sentence show where it came from. Click or tap one to open that snippet or Brain.
* **Sources** lists every item the answer was built from, with when it was last updated. Items in grey were found but not used.
* **Not in SprintBrain** names the part of your question your content doesn't cover yet.
* **Sources disagree** appears when two items say different things. Check both and fix the one that's out of date.
* **Copy answer** copies the answer without the source numbers, ready to paste into a message.

When nothing in your SprintBrain covers the question, it says **Nothing in SprintBrain covers this yet** instead of answering. When it finds related items that don't answer the question, it says so and lists them.

## What it reads

* Your snippets, and snippets in folders shared with you.
* Your Brain items.

It reads only what you can already open. Prompts are not used as sources: a prompt is an instruction for an AI, not information about your work.

It prefers approved items, says so when an item it used is not approved yet, treats a deprecated item as out of date, and ignores archived items. See [Review and approval](/review/overview).

To answer, SprintBrain sends your question and the matching items to Claude, the AI model made by Anthropic. Nothing else from your library is sent.

## Tell us if an answer was wrong

Under every answer, **Was this right?** offers six choices: **Useful**, **Wrong**, **Outdated**, **Incomplete**, **Not relevant** and **Conflicts with policy**. Pick one; it is sent once.

Your choice goes to a review list. It never changes a snippet or a Brain by itself: a person reads it and fixes the source.

## Review feedback

Click **Review** in the sidebar, then **Answer feedback**.

* **Open** lists feedback still waiting for someone. Each row shows the choice, who sent it and when, the question, the answer, and the items it was built from. Click an item to open it and fix it.
* **Mark resolved** closes the row once the source is fixed. **Resolved** lists closed rows, and **Reopen** brings one back.

Team admins see the feedback their whole team sends. Everyone else sees their own.
