A snippet has three parts:
  • Name: how you find it in lists, menus and search.
  • Trigger: the short word you type to insert it, like quote. You type it after your snippet prefix, so it becomes ::quote.
  • Body: the text that replaces the trigger. It can be plain text, or it can ask for details and work out numbers while you insert it.

Type the trigger

In any text field, type your prefix and the trigger, for example ::quote.

Pause, or press a key

SprintBrain inserts the snippet as soon as you stop typing. Space, Tab and Enter insert it straight away. The trigger disappears and the text takes its place.

Fill in the details

If the body has fields, a small form opens first. Fill it in and press Enter.
Three letters are often enough. ::quo inserts the quote snippet when no other trigger starts with “quo”.
:: is the default prefix. You can change it in Triggers.

Work out totals, discounts, deposits and percentages from the numbers you type.

Keep English, Italian, Spanish and French versions of one snippet.

Where to manage snippets

Create and edit snippets in the dashboard at app.sprintbrain.com. The Chrome extension and the phone page read the same library, so the version you save is the one that expands. See Create and organize.
Some fields don’t accept typed expansion. Open the SprintBrain popup, find the snippet, fill it in and click Copy filled, then paste.
